Trinidad Scorpion Butch T Pepper plant
The name ButchT or Butch T is after Butch Taylor. Butch is the person credited with originally discovering this strain. According to a post online, Butch was growing out the the Jonah strain, noticed a pod variation and saved the seed. He’s been sharing the seeds for a few years. When sending out seeds Butch would include his first name last initial (common when swapping seeds) on the seed package. This was the worlds hottest pepper (up to 1,463,000 SHUs) from 2011 until in Feb. 2012 when the Trinidad Scorpion Moruga took over as the newest Guinness record holder. This one is still in the top three worlds hottest chili pepper types and worth adding to any pepper garden.
